What does LASIK stand for?


LASIK stands for LASER IN-SITU KERATOMILEUSIS. It is a type of laser surgery that is capable of correcting nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. LASIK surgery is a very delicate procedure that requires the use of an excimer laser to remove some corneal tissue from the eyes and reshaping the focusing power of the cornea. By improving the focusing power of the cornea, the vision of the eye is improved.
